In the process of making the game, I had hoped to do 3d games. Because the 3d works can better present the scene. But the opposite is difficult to achieve in terms of the character. Because the idea of the game is based on my original character, so I finally chose 2d to better present the character.
Oneirina that I drew in 2018, and her gun.
I refined my character's worldview to match the needs of the game, and I had hoped that the game would have more narrative elements in it, but in the end it seemed to turn into a combat system lol.
It was my first time to encounter unity, and I encountered many difficulties in the process. From the simplest how to make a backdrop took me almost 2 hours. Later on, I also had a lot of problems when making my own character's sprite. For example, the center point is not aligned so that the character can not be reversed to walk, and the character can not fire bullets very well, etc.. In the middle of this production process I redid the project 3 times, and also redid the character animation once. Overall it can be very painful. But the moment I saw my child (the original character) moving well, I thought it all seemed worth it again.
Here's screenshots from unity
